Balayage vs. Highlights
Balayage is a freehand technique where color is painted into the hair.
Balayage has softer, less noticeable regrowth lines than traditional highlights. The principal idea being “less is more.” There are no striped lines like you can get with foil highlights (yes, we’re throwing shade at the old ways), balayage emulates the parts of your hair that would organically lighten in the sun.
Real french balayage is a refined messy, where imperfection is key. It is the finesse of the french. Being effortlessly “cool,” naturally.
